After 15 years as a professional musician where I played on 8 Grammy Award albums I switched to journalism. It began with a magazine created by Forest J Ackerman, named "Famous Monsters of Filmland. While working there I found out that many silent films were lost and that the American Screenwriter was falling through the cracks of American Literay History - So while enjoying life at nightclubs like Studio One in West Hollywood and the Wiskey - I wrote a series of Books to promote awareness of the great American art, that of Screenwriter. My Universal Series also included acknowledgements for the photograhers, designers, directors, musicians and other cast and crew members who were almost forgotten today. That was a great joy - When I heard they were getting fan mail again, after they thought they were forgotten, some even had tears in their eyes. That was all the reward I needed. The books were finally published in the 1980s & 90s. Now I'm on my third career in writing on Film History with a new series call FilMonsters, an alternate history to classic monster films and finally writing fiction works - based on my rock and roll years and fantasy, horror, science fiction themes.
